A man is in custody after a woman was fatally shot in Burlington on Wednesday.

Halton Regional Police were called to a home at 2244 No. 2 Side Road, west of Guelph Line, around 3 p.m. Officers found the female victim with traumatic injuries. She died at the scene.

A man was “quickly detained” when police arrived at the home. There was no immediate word on any charges.
