Ottawa police are asking for public help in the search for 25-year-old Jonathan Beauvais, who was being held in custody at the Royal Ottawa Hospital for charges under the Mental Health Act.

He was last seen leaving the hospital on Thursday evening at about 6 p.m.

Police describe him as a six-foot-tall white man with a thin build and shoulder-length black hair. On Thursday night, he was wearing a black baseball cap with a logo, a black and white checkered polo shirt, light grey khaki pants and black striped running shoes.

Ottawa police are asking anyone with information to contact them at 613-236-1222.

Beauvais was being held at the Royal after being deemed not criminally responsible for stalking and assault charges. He also has outstanding charges for sexually touching women unknown to him in public.
