These are the best coffee shops in N.J., according to Yelp

You could use a coffee.

From specialty coffee shops to full-service restaurants that also have great brews, here’s a list of some of the state’s most beloved coffee spots, according to our friends over at Yelp.

And Jersey does love coffee, leading to a variety of options whether you’re in North, South or elusive Central Jersey: Flavored cappuccinos? We got lots of ’em. Cold brews abound. And there’s even a place that can draw your dog’s face in the foam on your latte.

Selections were made using both the number of reviews and rating, according to Yelp.

20. RJ Bagels & Tacos, Fairfield

One customer says: The food was great and they had really good coffee. The guy working welcomed us to the area and thanked us for stopping in. If you’re in the area, check them out!

19. Duck Donuts, Middletown

One customer says: Hot, warm and crispy donuts. Go for a dozen and always get the bacon topping. Coffee is really good too. Strong and hot.

18. Jola Coffee, North Caldwell

One customer says: Great coffee, great owners and staff, marvelous warm friendly atmosphere. A real neighborhood feel and did I mention great coffee?

17. Baked on the Beach, Surf City

One customer says: If you’re looking for a quick grab and go coffee and muffin, this is my new favorite place. I had a cold brew that was amazing too! many places serve iced coffee as cold brew but its typically just old cold coffee over ice. Not here. A real cold brew that was delicious and not bitter.

16. Hayday Coffee, Atlantic City

One customer says: I’m really excited to have this amazing coffee shop in the heart of Atlantic City. The coffees and teas are poured right from a tap and are totally legit! They have nitro coffees, cold brews, herbal teas and a variety of other options. The decor is impeccable and the owners are extremely personable and fun.

15. Latteria, Swedesboro

One customer says: This eclectic and brightly-lit coffee-and-ice cream-shop is a rare find in the Swedesboro area. Quality products, free samples galore, and sweet staff set this place apart and make it shine in an otherwise mostly bland shopping center.

14. Andris Cuban Sandwich King, Lyndhurst

One customer says: Here I am in Bergen County trying to find a local cuban place, and look what I find in Lyndhurst. A GEM!!! There coffee is very delicious and the sandwiches are to die for. Prices are fair and I look forward to eating here in the near future.

13. Village Tea Shop, Ridgewood

One customer says: I go here almost every day. The place is nicely laid out. The owners are very knowledgeable and the tea is great. They have everything from bubble tea to tea lattes to French press coffee. Eugene the master mind behind this place will even make off menu items.

12. The Domesticated Dad, Asbury Park

One customer says: I love this place. I had company from out of state and of course they wanted pork roll sandwiches. The bags arrived with all of our names and the coffee was in ball jars. It was a big hit and the sandwiches were delicious.

11. Salome Cafe, Clifton

One customer says: Finally, finally, finally La Colombe in Clifton. Win! On Market Street down from the Allwood Theater with Street parking (usually) available, Win! Awesome friendly, French speaking owner (on Market Street!) Win! There is a quiet food revolution going on here. Stop by and take advantage. Coffee selection is vast, pastry selection is small but be sure to get there while the goodies are coming out of the oven, yum.

10. Palazzone 1960, Wayne

One customer says: The best pastries and coffee around. Ive been coming here almost every week for three years. Their food is authentic. The owners and many of the staff are from Italy and there is a big Italian community of regulars. The daily specials are incredible, as well as the regular menu. HIGHLY recommend to anyone that wants to experience a true Italian cafe.

9. Congress Station, Jersey City

One customer says: Very friendly. Intelligentsia coffee. Always smells like fresh bacon and coffee. Can’t complain at all about that. Closes early in the day tho so get it while it lasts.

8. Kudo Society, Palisades Park

One customer says: Always a great experience. Love the coffee and the ambiance. Make sure to try their house blend. It is delicious! The owner let me know that their coffee is non acidic which is perfect for people with digestive problems!

7. Square 1, Jersey City

One customer says: The best coffee ever! It’s even better than waking up in the morning brewing your own coffee while walking barefoot around your own kitchen. The baked goods and sandwiches are divine, as the freshness takes you back home in every bite.

6. The Pasta Shop, Denville

One customer says: Truly a gem. No other restaurants even come close. Amazing homemade pasta and desserts, superb coffee and friendly service.

5. Gelato Dolceria, Haddonfield

One customer says: As good as the gelato I had in Europe. And the coffee was perfect! Prices reasonable and the owner and his wife couldn’t be nicer! Can’t wait to go back!

4. Koffeewagon Roasters, Hasbrouck Heights

One customer says: Love that the employees here are so social and super friendly. The Cold Brew is second to none, I frequently buy the growlers and fill them up. I really wish I could give this place more stars, they deserve it!

3. Local Coffee, Montclair

One customer says: Local knows coffee! From the last gram to the perfect temp- Perfection with a healthy blend of human interaction and great conversation. Arguably the best shop I’ve visited, including domestic and international travels down to my home city, NYC (sorry NY).

2. The Edison Automat, Edison

One customer says: Never have I come across an establishment more worthy of a five star rating. This place was a home run. … Customer service was spectacular, food was delicious and coffee was to die for.

1. Griot Cafe, Jersey City

One customer says: Don’t judge a book by the cover is what I say about the outside of this place. So much goodness inside that I can’t believe it took me this long to get here. I was really impressed with their coffee and bites.
